A biomedical animated explainer video is a teaching tool that uses animation, voice-over, and text, to break down a wide variety of complex topics in science and medicine. These movies present a complex topic in a clear manner in a short period of time. One key form of explainer video is the whiteboard animation video. These animations are composed of images that are drawn in accelerated speed or time-lapse, often with an animated marker creating figures, words, tables, and other didactic tools to attract attention and communicate critical messaging. Along with a voice-over, they succinctly highlight information to allow a viewer to understand a given topic.
